We provided Macintosh Support to an Advertising Agency handling multiple national accounts. Services included
senior-level support to the Advertising Agency for Macintosh and PC desktop units, network, server and intranet applications
including:
Design and implementation of Advertising Agency network, serving over 40 nodes with
a mixed environment of pcs, macs, various printer and scanning peripherals.
Network design for the Advertising Agency included 10/100 switch, 3 network servers, internet firewall,
internet router, intranet and ftp server, category 5e gigabit-ready copper
network.
Installation and configuration of Macintosh OS X server for Ad Agency, including FTP and
WWW serving capabilities, net-boot and Apple File Services over TCP/IP.
Installation of users, user groups, management of security issues.
Support manager in developing intranet use policy for the Advertising Agency as well as setup and
implementation of oversight and reporting mechnisms for internet usage.
Assist manager in design and implementation of backup strategy for multiple
servers providing maximum ability to recover lost/damaged work, as well
as a backup strategy in case of complete failure or loss of equipment at the Ad Agency.
Day-to-day backup support for Advertising Agency designers, including Mac Support for users
with desktop hardware/software, server issues, intranet issues, and Macintosh software
issues. This includes Mac Support to the Ad Agency by phone and on-site as needed. Support for issues which involved Macintosh and PC (cross-platform issues).
Training and Mac Support provided for various software packages common to this Ad Agency, including
FlightCheck "preflight" software, QuarkXPress, Adobe Photoshop
and Adobe Acrobat.
